
DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF THE INSTITUTE
The Development Strategy of the Institute of Physical and Technical Sciences of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University for 2025–2029 sets long-term guidelines for strengthening and modernizing the institute as a leading scientific and educational center of Kazakhstan. The mission is to generate and implement new knowledge and technologies in physics, nuclear and space technologies, radiophysics, and electronics, while training competitive specialists for the national economy and global science. The strategy outlines key priorities: enhancing the quality of multi-level education and academic mobility; reinforcing the university’s status as an international research hub; building human resource capacity; and upgrading infrastructure and the digital environment.
The research agenda covers global and national priorities — from nanomaterials and hydrogen energy to space technologies, commercialization of scientific results, and the creation of a Park of Scientific Laboratories. Ambitious goals include entering the top QS and THE subject rankings in physics and astronomy, developing an innovation ecosystem and project management, expanding international cooperation, and engaging industry in research. The program is designed to comprehensively strengthen the institute’s competitiveness, ensure sustainable growth, and actively contribute to the scientific and technological future of the country.
